The newest of jazz singers to hit the Buffalo scene, Dr. M has been described as a mid-mod jazz chanteuse. She brings a lively, yet sultry delivery to her music, which includes jazz standards as well as jazzed-out newer tunes. Dr. M was trained in voice for over 6 years, including 4 years of daily instruction with the late Robert Vehar. Dr. M's genre interests were jazz and Motown. Specific artists of influence include Sarah Vaughan, Carmen McRae, Dianne Reeves, Dinah Washington, Nancy Wilson, Katherine Russell, Kandace Springs, Sade, and Diana Krall to name a few.
